Best Time To Go To Boracay
What’s the best time to go to Boracay Island? ‘Bora’ as some tourists dub it, is arguably the best, if not the most popular beach in the Philippines. The white sandy beaches, the party atmosphere, and a wide variety of international cuisine and activities make this place a complete package for a great vacation.
Each individual has different preferences when it comes to visiting Boracay. It can be dependent on the weather, the budget, and the special occasion that is being celebrated. Below you will find guidelines of the best months to visit Boracay.
Boracay Peak Months
If you are basing your visit on the local weather then November to May are the best months to go. It is during these months that the country has its dry season, with temperatures ranging from 25C to 32C and only few occasional showers from November to December.
In Boracay, peak season is from December to April. During these months, plenty of tourists prefer to travel to Boracay because of the great ambience and festive mood of the Christmas season, a mardi-gras like festival called the Ati-atihan Festival in Kalibo in January, as well as various sporting events held on the beach and surrounding towns. Other events also include concerts and entertainment shows by the beach. Water sport activities are also a hit during this time, but because it’s the peak season expect prices for such activities to be a lot higher than the usual.
Boracay Hottest Months
Another nice time to go to Boracay is during May and June. If you prefer the sun at its hottest, these months are good for you. Temperatures can reach up to 38C but you may also experience some showers during middle of June. The area would still be full of tourists since it’s still the summer season in the Philippines and for some, the school year won’t start till the middle of June. But if you prefer not to get burned or have a tan, you need to consider going during a later month. The prices for accommodation and activities would also tend to go down a bit during these times since it’s entering the off-peak season.
Boracay Off-Peak Months
If you’re on a tight budget but want to experience the beauty of Boracay, the best time to visit is from July to November. This is the off-peak season for most of the beaches in the Philippines because it’s the rainy season in the country. Flights, accommodations, food and activities gradually decrease by a decent amount when you visit Boracay during these months.
During the off-peak months, people who prefer to be in a quiet place and just enjoy the serenity of the beach would be able to experience this in Boracay. There would also be a lot less water sport activity, and boat tours will be at a reduced price, which are both weather dependent. The sunset during the months of October and November are said to be the best.
If you are not bothered about the constant rain and sometimes typhoons, then these months would be good for you. The place has plenty of protection in cases of heavy rain and typhoons but expect that boats going in and out of Boracay would have the possibility of being cancelled, and that could mean missing your flight on the adjoining islands.
Just always remember that you need to plan accordingly when you visit Boracay to best experience the beauty of the place. It’s an all-year round destination and whatever you decide, you’ll be sure to have fun and excitement.
